I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and got to enjoy some time with your friends and family. Here in the ‘Burg we kicked things off with a little egg hunt at the Long Sault Bird Sanctuary on Wednesday with my cousin and her wee one. It was so nice to get out of the house and made me realize I should take my kids out for more of the activities that the Early Years Centre here in South Dundas puts on for us.
After a rogue icy storm, we started our long weekend early when Thursday ended up being a snow day, so we spent the day in cozy clothes and sipped hot chocolate.
Friday we got to have a wonderful start to the day with a pancake breakfast with our church family and we pretty much spent the rest of the day hanging out, well I did laundry all day but it was nice having everyone tucked into clean sheets that night.
Peyton had a birthday party to attend on Saturday so Shawn took Kai and Addy to Tim Hortons for a treat while I stayed home and treated myself to a steaming hot bubble bath! We ran some errands and capped the day off with a walk and bed early so our friendly neighbourhood bunny could come drop off some treats.
Early morning searching for eggs and we were off to church, purple was our theme for the day. I took the kids and hurried off early to get them home to change and eat a quick lunch before the drive to my mom and dad’s farm for Easter dinner.
By the time that we got to the farm the weather ended up being so beautiful that we were all able to take our coats off and take a stroll through the fields, made all the better by the warm sun on our faces. Shawn and the kids spent the majority of the day outside while I got to spend time with my mom, dad, and sister just chatting inside. We concluded our weekend with delicious ham, scalloped potatoes, cauliflower casserole, sweet bbq beans, and my contribution… strawberry shortcake. All in all we had a busy but great weekend!
